Description
The first in a pile of commissions I did for a client. With this piece, the client sent me a link to a creepy kids song called "Creature From The Tub" and asked me to draw a kid and the creature he encounters. My love of monsters is well known, so this was a (trick or) treat to create. With the design of the little boy, I was stylistically inspired by one of my favorite children's book illustrators, David Catrow [link] .

Reminds me a lot of Bloom County's Binkley and his spotted purple Snorkelwhacker in his anxiety closet (I have the three BC omnibus editions and am waiting on #4 to come out). Maybe they should clean that tub a little more often if a creature's living in it. Or is it one of those nice, sensitive, misunderstood creatures that just begs to be part of a Shel Silverstein poem? Nice work in any case.
