OLIVE OYL DOING LAUNDRY

A recent commission where I was asked to draw any character I wanted on laundry day. I loved the total freedom to choose whatever character I wanted engaged in a mundane task like laundry (I'm a big fan of mundane tasks. Grocery shopping ranks pretty high with me). And as I'm a HUGE Popeye fan, drawing one of his cast of characters was a natural choice. I tried to include little "in" jokes, like the tiny bra on the line, next to the big honkin' socks (both of which suiting Olive's physicality). I'm planning on drawing many more Popeye pieces in the coming days, so if you like this one, you're in for something special soon.
