It's stuff like this why you've been one of my favourite cartoonists for years, honoured to call you among my friends, talented fella.

Who's gonna talk like curly, since Curly isn't here?
Who's gonna chase down villains and then turn around and run in fear?

Bubbles: Oh my. Who are these lovely people?
Shelly: I think that's supposed to be us, Bubblehead.
Clamhead: Wowee-wow-wow-wow. This is really good.
Biff: I'll say. This artist has talent.
Jabberjaw: Yeah. Finally, we get some respect. Nyuk-nyuk-nyuk.
[Shelly folds her arms]
Shelly (sulking): Yeah, it's okay, i guess.
[She turns her head away from the portrait]
Biff: Well, come on, gang, we need to rehearse.
[Everyone except Shelly starts heading toward the concert hall]
Biff: You coming, Shell?
Shelly: In a minute.
[Shelly looks over her depiction in the colored caricature for a few moments]
[before flashing a satisfied smirk]

But, yeah, thank you for sharing this with us.

It was nice reliving a cheerful moment from childhood. :aww:

Keep up the good work, Jay.

LOVE it.  This is my era.  Man, have you done a take of Bakshi's "The Mighty Heroes"?  That is probably my all-time fav cartoon from this era and its already drawn in your style!

I never understood why Hanna Barbera felt the need to rip off their own "mystery solving teens & funny talking animal" concept. Not like it stopped them from making a hundred Scooby spinoffs...but enough about that. This piece looks swell!

It's the standard thinking of any entertainment company--if it works once, it'll work again. And again. And again....Disney hit it big with their first princess cartoon in Snow White. Almost 80 years later, they're still milking that formula.

No argument there. At least Disney changed it up once in a while.

I've seen that show before, and now that I know that my DVR gets Boomerang, I can see if I can catch more episodes.  Loved how Jabbs sounded and acted like Curly from the Three Stooges and the brunette was like Veronica from Archie.  Your piece is spot on with the show's look.

Funny, I was just listening to "Jabberjaw (Running Under Water)" by Pain
(Used in the Cartoon Network 'Groovies' shorts from a decade or so ago)
When I saw this in my queue!

Awesome work!

Very nice. I was hoping to see more of the classic cartoons.

Great background, it has both a psychedelic and aquatic feel to it.
Same goes for the bands outfits and instruments.

When I first joined DA back in 2005, I did a series of Hanna Barbera-themed pieces, which I purposefully did without reference. In this case, I was VERY faithful to the looks of the characters' costumes and instruments.

Maybe so but you can't claim entirely such on the background, that was all you my friend.
That is one more reason I love your work, even when you're recreating classic works and characters your own style shines through.

Anyone can draw Hanna Barbera characters, you bring them to life.

I am probably going to request some come next drive.
