Abbot and Costello meet some other monsters by JayFosgitt Abbot and Costello meet some other monsters by JayFosgitt
A commission I did where I was asked to draw Abbot and Costello meeting Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, and The Gill Man. To make this look like a vintage movie promo, I employed a few different filters and textures for a distressed look, and faded the line work from black to dark grey.

Whoa, very great job, you catched the true-blue spirit of the comic duo: Abbott always recriminating Costello without perceiving the reason why he's so nervous. Run Away And the cartoon style is also pretty cool, reminds the one of the 60s! Congrats.

using a different tone or colour for the line work really makes an image pop and blends everything in nicely

Even though for some time Bud Abbott didn't have a moustache, the times he did were just like here. And he's one of the best straight men ever.

Abbot and Costello met some weird folks in their movies, but this is a heck of an assortment.  So when are they all going to break into a rendition of "Putting on the Ritz" like in Mel Brooks' hilarious film?  Nice work.

Along with Frankestein's Monster, they also met the Wolfman in theat movie.  In other movies they also met The Invisible Man and The Mummy (with Richard Deacon, of all people, as the sinister Egyptian priest!).  There may have been others, but the Gill Man was unlikely to have been one of them.

Always enjoyed these movies.  Used to back in the days of elementary school and film projectors, I used to hit the Halloween Party the school would throw.  Get a bag of popcorn and a can of Coke for a buck and watch these movies all afternoon.  :)

Very nice, I love the design for Abbot and Costello

The shadows are very well done, so many people do them simply as black blobs but yours feel like real shadows, they blend perfectly together to group the monsters together.

I can't wait to see more of your work :)

Thanks, James! I rarely draw my shadows in with the line art--I prefer to create my shadows in the coloring process, doing a separate layer just for them and bringing down the opacity just enough so that the shadow isn't too intrusive on the line art, but still defines the shapes.

That is the effort that is rarely appreciated, this moment excluded.
You put so much work into every piece and it shows.

Amazing. I will say that Abbot's dark suit blends in with the Frankenstein monster's a little too much.
